Our fundamental philosophy revolves around farming in harmony with the environment while actively contributing to its well-being.
our organic olive farm
At the heart of our practices lies the principle of
“do no harm”.
This ethos led us to undergo the three year transition process from conventional farming methods to Certified Organic Status, which we achieved in 2021. We have now taken this a step further, and are practicing regenerative farming methods on our 8.5 hectare plot.
We prioritize minimal soil disturbance to safeguard against nutrient loss and soil oxidisation and erosion. We NEVER use fungicides or insecticides, even when organic alternatives are available. .
Our approach to grove management favours sustainable practices, prunings are either mulched back onto the grove, used in our biomass boiler, or in our wood stove to heat the house. We do not burn any waste clippings on the land.
Our home is solar powered, with photovoltaic panels providing our electricity and hot water. With so much sunshine here in Sabina, we are even able to charge our electric vehicle using electricity provided by our panels. If you drive here in an EV, you can charge yours too.
We're avid proponents of regenerative farming, continuously striving to enhance soil health, promote biodiversity, and improve air quality.
In 2023, we proudly became one of the pioneering farms in our region to participate in the European Union Ecoscheme, wholeheartedly embracing wildlife-friendly farming. Our commitment was further demonstrated through the creation of two hectares of wildflower meadows, achieving Ecoscheme 5 status, the highest level of EU-recognized countryside stewardship.
Welcome to our journey, where nature, sustainability, and exceptional olive oil converge to create an unforgettable experience.
